Sanju Sangen-do

Sanjusangendo is the popular name for Rengeo-in, a temple in eastern Kyoto which is famous for its 1001 statues of Kannon, the goddess of mercy. The temple hall is with 120 meters Japan‘s longest wooden structure., where on New Years Day, a group of  girls celebrating their becoming adulthood of 20 years old  release an arrow from a bow .

 


 

Kiyomizudera Temple

  Kiyomizu-dera  dates back to 778, and its present buildings were constructed in 1633, famous for not using a single nail  in the entire structure. Built on the cliff, offering a magnificent view of Kyoto City.

 


 

Kenninji  Temple

 A Zen tempeand World Heritage Site in northwest Kyoto, Japan. Best known for its Zen garden, a simple gravel-and-rock arrangement that inspires peace and contemplation
